VCHS CONST - Concertino Strings
Course description
ConcertinoStrings is a small orchestra for students (generally 12 & under) who will benefit from detailed training. Members usually have at least 2 - 3 years of orchestral training in ensembles such as Preparatory, or Debut Strings. Orchestra members will benefit from further ensemble skills in preparation for Junior Sinfonia, and/or Conservatory Sinfonia. Most players have at least 2 - 3 years of orchestra training in Debut Strings or equivalent.
- Ages 8 - 12
- Players in Concertino Strings will generally have at least 2-3 years of ensemble experience.
- Players in Concertino Strings should be playing at an intermediate level or higher
- Student must be able to read music - sight reading is a regular component of rehearsals

Auditions Information
Auditions for the 2025-26 season are now open. Auditions will determine the ensemble placement for students as well as seating assignments based on age, ability, and experience. These decisions will be made by the panel and all decisions are final. Please ensure that you select repertoire and a scale which showcases your capabilities and current level. Acceptance is not guaranteed. Please read carefully below as there is important information.
All applicants must fill out the MRU Orchestras Audition Form and select a live audition time or submit a pre-recorded video audition as outlined in the audition requirements linked below. Auditions will take place between June 2 - June 11, 2025. Please make sure to read all the information carefully and be sure you are aware of the audition requirements.
