Course description

Explore the concept of care in early learning and child care practice which includes the spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being of children, Early Childhood Educators, and others. You will examine the importance of care in building healthy relationships in everyday ethical practice. You will also be provided with support for improving vocabulary, oral communication, and writing skills to strengthen English as an Additional Language learner competence and confidence.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • discuss how 'care' is connected to educating young children. 
  • describe the different aspects of a child's health and well-being (spiritual, physical, emotional, social, mental).  
  • identify methods to ensure the safety and well-being of children in the care of Early Childhood Educators. 
  • develop strategies to nurture and care for oneself.
