Course description

The MRU Summer Strings Institute is an intensive, week-long program for string players ages 8–18 of all skill levels, with at least one year of private lessons. Through a balanced and immersive approach, students develop well-rounded musicianship by integrating chamber music, instrumental technique, and music theory.

Led by Eric Auerbach and Michael van der Sloot, and joined by Tobi Jurchuk, participants receive expert instruction in a supportive, collaborative environment. Students build technical skills, musical understanding, confidence, and meaningful connections with peers while preparing for continued musical study and ensemble playing.
