Course description

Discover the physiological effects, contraindications, and limitations of each hydrotherapy application.  Gain a foundational  knowledge of and apply the various heat, cold, contrast and varied paraffin applications that help increase blood flow, tissue pliability and relaxation. Learn how to direct your client with appropriate home care treatments that may prolong the benefits of their physical treatments. Standards of practice for set up, take down and clean up are also demonstrated in a supervised practical setting

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to 

  • understand the physiological effects of hot, cold, contrast, and paraffin applications. 
  • explain the contraindications and limitations of hot, cold, contrast, and paraffin applications. 
  • safely apply hot, cold, contrast, and paraffin applications.
