Course description

Create and submit a final project applying your knowledge of specific components of a detailed event plan. Use real-life examples to review and demonstrate the elements, processes and components of effective event planning.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • determine measurable outcomes that align with the event purpose.
  • develop the planning documents required to manage the logistics of an event including the site plan, critical path, and event design.
  • create an event budget.
  • create risk management and contingency plans to mitigate identified risks.
  • develop a comprehensive event marketing plan.
  • create a production schedule and script that integrates key elements of an event.
  • communicate how your event will be evaluated.

Prerequisites

XEVT 10011 - Introduction to Event Planning with a minimum grade of C
AND XEVT 20001 - Resource Management for Event Planning with a minimum grade of C
AND XEVT 20002 - Event Logistics with a minimum grade of C
AND XEVT 20003 - Event Risk Management with a minimum grade of C
AND XEVT 20004 - Event Marketing with a minimum grade of C
AND XEVT 20005 - Event Production with a minimum grade of C
