Course description

Learn how wedding and event planners reduce budgets and stress by negotiating contracts and streamlining processes. Be exposed to the business of event planning and receive valuable resources to start your own venture, create win-win contracts and effectively market your business.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • describe the necessary elements involved in planning a wedding or social event for budgeting.
  • describe the social and business management skills and ethics required in the wedding and special events industry.
  • identify key strategies for sales, marketing and advertising your business.
  • develop a framework for creating contracts and assessing insurance.
  • identify the basics of protocol and the implications.
