Course description

Learn about common exceptionalities in the classroom, and explore current theory and practice related to diverse learning needs within the school environment. You will review the various forms of exceptionality and discover effective support strategies to foster an inclusive learning experience.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to 

  • identify the strategies and philosophies important in the education of exceptional students. 
  • review the exceptionalities present in students within every day and specialized classrooms. 
  • identify, evaluate, and prioritize the needs of students in a diverse education environment.
