Course description

Gain an overview of Canadian Tort Law, an area of law that focuses on remedying behaviour that causes unintentional harm or injury to others. Learn how different types of liability impact a business.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • describe the legal and societal concepts of right and wrong and how they relate to tort law.
  • explain how tort law seeks to address issues of personal responsibility.
  • identify the key principles underlying tort law.
  • apply tort law to contract case studies from the Canadian business environment.
