Course description

Discover how to use strategy analysis to understand all strategic, tactical and operational aspects of a business. Learn how effective strategic analysis seeks to answer not only the “how” of a solution, but the “what” and the “why.” Learn how to partner with stakeholders to discover, understand, collaborate and establish specific business needs that reflect the future direction of the organization. Practice identifying risk and change requirements as well as ways to measure a solution's performance.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • apply techniques to understand and articulate current organizational capabilities and needs.
  • facilitate discussions with executives and senior managers to institute business goals and objectives.
  • establish stakeholders' future state thinking solution scope and decisions criteria for business projects and initiatives.
  • identify and assess business risks and their potential impact on the organization.
  • define, communicate and implement a change strategy considering critical success factors.
  • create relevant measurement metrics to evaluate performance and track the progress of an initiative or solution.

•   This is an online, asynchronous course; it is not an independent study course. There are set due dates for graded and non-graded assessments and students are required to actively participate throughout the course via discussion and other activities.
