Course description

Learn how to construct an effective business case that provides a rationale for a recommended solution to an organizational need, problem or opportunity. Identify the relevant business case, facts and information needed to make investment decisions within an organization. Understand how to set realistic expectations for the proposed change initiative and outline the business value of the solution.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • define the purpose, audience and goal of a business case.
  • apply critical thinking skills to identify feasible solutions to solve the business's need, problem or opportunity.
  • evaluate solution alternatives according to their respective benefits, costs and risks.
  • analyze internal and external factors that may influence the viability of a business case.
  • develop a business case document.
