Gain insight into marketing and public relations as they relate to the goals and objectives of non-profit organizations. Learn how to develop a marketing and public relations plan for a non-profit organization.Learner outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
- recognize the role that marketing plays in the nonprofit sector, the special features of nonprofit marketing, and the marketing publics that apply to nonprofit organizations.
- implement key marketing concepts such as branding and promotion.
- understand how nonprofit organizations can utilize marketing and public relations to support fundraising activities.
- differentiate between the different types of marketing that are unique to nonprofit organizations and recognize their objectives and applications.
- examine marketing and communications strategies and study their relationship to the strategic planning process.
- develop the essential elements in marketing plans and communications plans and identify the relationship between these plans and an organization’s strategic plan.
- create effective communication and public relations strategies.
- identify current trends in marketing and communications, especially those related to nonprofit organizations.
