Course description

This orchestra offers an exceptional opportunity for young musicians to develop their ensemble skills in a supportive environment. Students must have at least one year of previous ensemble experience to be eligible for the Debut Strings. String orchestra members will benefit from further ensemble skills in preparation for Chamber Strings, Junior Sinfonia or the Conservatory Sinfonia. Most players have one year of experience in the Preparatory Strings or its equivalent.

Section Notes

This is a half year section beginning in January 2024. Registration will be available December 4, 2023.

No rehearsal Jan. 4th, Mar. 28th, and Apr. 4th.

Dates are inclusive of rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and concerts including the Spring Showcase & dress rehearsal on May 26th which is the final class of the term.

Audition

An audition is required for admission to Conservatory orchestral programs. For those wishing to join the orchestra please contact the program facilitator, Michael van der Sloot, for addtional details and audition requirements.

Registration and auditions are available throughout the year and students are admitted based on their successful audition.
