VJRS JRSTR - Junior Sinfonia
Course description
The Junior Sinfonia is tailored for proficient string musicians aged 12-17 who have prior ensemble experience such as Concertino and/or Chamber Strings, strong reading skills, and an enthusiasm for creating music with others!
- Ages 12-17
- Players in Junior Sinfonia should be playing at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Student must be able to read music - sight reading is a regular component of rehearsals

Auditions Information
Auditions for the 2026 - 2027 season are now open!
Auditions will determine the ensemble placement for students as well as seating assignments based on age, ability, and experience. These decisions will be made by the panel and all decisions are final. Please ensure that you select repertoire and a scale which showcases your capabilities and current level. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
All applicants must fill out the MRU Orchestras Audition Form and select a live audition time or submit a pre- recorded video audition as outlined in the audition requirements linked below. Auditions will take place in early June 2026. Please make sure to read all the information carefully and be sure you are aware of the audition requirements.
