Course description

Apply the skills from previous courses to be able to identify personal behaviours already in place that can be strengthened to ensure continued success. You will also learn to identify personal barriers to your success and how you can change or modify your behaviour to adopt a more appropriate and responsible approach to everyday situations.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • demonstrate the appropriate and responsible use of feedback 
  • practice responding and not reacting to corrective or developmental feedback
  • recognize the components of t problem solving 
  • distinguish between each component, and to apply the procedures described in
  • each component to real life situations
  • identify harmful and helpful personal and group behaviors
  • demonstrate appropriate person behaviors that enhance or impede actions in a group 
  • gain an understanding of the kinds of assumptions we make 
  • explain the origin of an assumption and to select methods for avoiding faulty assumptions 
  • gain an understanding of the feelings underlying anger 
  • acquire the skills to manage one's own anger
  • become familiar with the concept of conflict management and practice negotiating through conflict
  • gain an understanding of the principles of Balanced Self Determination
  • apply the principles to practical situations
