Course description

Explore how to become a more informed citizen by understanding and making connections between current events, politics and world geography. Grow your skills and ability to discuss and demonstrate your understanding of world events while expanding social and community contacts.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • find and analyze current event using technology/media
  • describe and summarize these events.
  • locate the countries which dominate the media on a map.
  • demonstrate an understanding of current world events through oral presentations, reports, posters, newspaper articles, or letters
  • have reciprocal conversations about current world events.
  • increase self-awareness and confidence

Students who are new to TVP Part Time classes must speak with the program team before registering.
