Course description

Discover and build interpersonal, intra-personal, communication and problem-solving skills. Gain an understanding of yourself and your actions in relation to others in the group and in a potential workplace.

Notes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Increase an awareness of self including feelings
  • Develop an awareness related to self-confidence
  • Learn how to give and receive feedback effectively
  • Practice skills for efficient teamwork
  • Develop and demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Differentiate passive, aggressive, and assertive behavior
  • Identify encouraging and negative behaviours and attitudes required for success in the work place
  • Recognize the concept of "choice and control" in their life
  • Implement strategies for conflict resolution
  • Explore and utilize methods for stress management
  • Explore different ways of looking at problems and practicing creative strategies for problem solving and decision making

Students who are new to TVP Part Time classes must speak with the program team before registering.
