Course description

This clear language course is designed to help prepare adults with developmental disabilities to write the Alberta Learner’s License test successfully. Students will find and apply information from the Alberta Driver’s guide, demonstrate safe driving techniques using models and diagrams and gain confidence with the driving rules. Students will also learn study and test taking skills.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • explain the basic physical principles of driving a vehicle.
  • determine the purpose of various traffic control signals, signs and markings.
  • differentiate between various types of intersections.
  • outline the principles of safe and responsible driving.

Prerequisites

Students who are new to TVP Part Time classes must speak with the program team before registering.
