Course description

Become familiar with computer programming concepts and terms, including artificial intelligence (AI), and be introduced to code editors and online programming environments. Learn to write and test basic computer code and programs.

Recommended preparation: Basic computer skills are strongly recommended prior to taking this course.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

  • discuss computer coding and AI and learn about the differences between them.
  • use web-based programming and AI tools. 
  • write simple computer programs, using logic and looping, and testing them. 
  • increase the students' understanding of computers in general and gain confidence using them.
