Course description

This course will help you understand numbers, use calculators for daily living needs, understand the concepts of time and money and increase your confidence in math.

Notes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • explain numbers in a variety of ways using the place value system.
  • use numeration skills and strategies to solve equations. 
  • describe basic time units and their appropriate uses. 
  • use standard and non-standard measurements to compare size and distance in everyday scenarios.  
  • apply knowledge of money and money  management to everyday transactions. 
  • utilize a calculator for everyday needs.
