Course description

This course will teach students how to read and write in order to navigate real world tasks and situations and participate in society. Students will learn and become better equipped to navigate, adapt to and thrive using literacy in real world situations.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to 

  • compare the key characteristics of fiction and non fiction texts.
  • analyze various materials to acquire information.
  • express thoughts effectively in writing.
  • utilize various communication methods to deliver information in a way that is appropriate to the context.
