XEPP 20021 - Work Integrated Learning Tutorial II
Course description
Work integrated learning placements are determined by the students' interests and abilities. Work integrated learning provides an on the job training opportunity to develop skills essential for competitive employment in the targeted job. The students will be expected to develop attitudes and behaviours required for employment success. Ongoing employer liaison, worksite monitoring and regular evaluations will assess skill acquisition.Learner outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- displays positive work ethic related to punctuality, attendance, work pride and motivation for work.
- displays ability to meet work standards regarding: quality of work, quantity of work, identifying errors, meeting hygiene and dress standards, amount of supervision needed, working independently.
- displays teamwork skills: respectful of supervisor, respectful of co-workers, gets along well with co-workers, relates appropriately to customers.
- displays appropriate communication/social skills: communicates needs clearly, listens to instructions attentively, follows instructions accurately, asks questions if not clear.
- displays adaptability: ability to learn new duties, handle work distractions, adjust work pace as required, accept changes in work routine, shows initiative by completing assigned task and seeking additional work, express willingness to try new assignments and assist co-workers, follows work routine.
