Course description

Explore self-identity and build self-confidence by enhancing communication skills and emphasizing problem solving in everyday life. Using an experiential approach, you will practice and apply skills individually and in small groups, covering self-esteem, trust and risk-taking, teamwork and stress management.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • increase awareness of self and self-confidence.
  • acquire inter-personal, intra-personal, communication and problem solving skills.
  • explore the aspects of trust and risk taking. 
  • practice skills for efficient teamwork.
  • develop and demonstrate effective communication skills including oral competency.
  • evaluate the amount of choice & control in their life and identify ways they may give up control.
  • explore and utilize methods for stress management. 
  • gain an understanding of themselves and their actions in relation to others in the group and in a workplace environment.
