Course description

Acquire skills and techniques to make your classes more enjoyable and effective. You will learn to assess student performance both in class and online. Topics include effective teaching techniques, classroom presentation skills, assessing teaching and learning, and online facilitation.

Learner outcomes

 Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
  • identify the principles of effective teaching and list techniques that help to improve teaching practice.
  • differentiate between key verbal and non-verbal techniques to improve presentation of curricular material in a classroom setting.
  • assess student performance based on clearly delineated and measurable objectives.
  • utilize the Internet to effectively reach—and teach—the distance learner.
