Course description

This course is designed as an Introduction to the Violin for children ages 5 – 8 years old. Students will learn to identify the parts of the violin and bow and how to hold the violin and bow correctly. We will learn to name the violin strings and use proper pizzicato technique to pluck the open strings. Through a variety of songs, movement and rhythm activities students will explore how to play the beat and rhythms on non-pitched percussion instruments, then on the violin using the bow.
