Course description

The "Older Beginner" Kodály Music course is a comprehensive musicianship program for children aged 7-10. It is based on singing, circle games, reading and writing basic notation and rhythms, as well as composing.

Using the Kodály method, children will learn a repertoire of folk songs and sing with relative solfa, absolute note names showing the rhythm and the beat.

As a prerequisite for instrumental studies, children will learn to read music through this enhanced course with weekly homework practice.

Appreciation of classical music, listening activities and movement will make this a fun and engaging experience for all.
