Course description

Adventures in Music
  • This course draws upon core music education in a creative and engaging approach that combines musical games, folk songs from different cultures, movement and instrument playing. Adventures in Music also nurtures the development of the child’s singing voice. Language is used to teach music literacy (rhythms, melodies and harmony) as well as to practice and internalize musical concepts.
Inclusive Adventures in Music
  • The Inclusive Adventures in Music class will be made up of a smaller number of students who have disabilities or learning challenges and who enjoy music but require extra flexibility and support in a group setting. 
  • The curriculum is called, Adventures in Music.  It draws on core music education in a creative and engaging approach that combines musical games, folk songs from different cultures, movement and instrument playing. 
  • Adventures in Music also nurtures the development of the child’s singing voice. Language is used to teach music literacy (rhythms, melodies and harmony), as well as, to practice and internalize musical concepts. 
  • Each child may be accompanied by one community aide or parent for support if desired. If you are unsure if this class is right for your child, please contact the Conservatory registration team at ceregservices@mtroyal.ca or 403.440.3833.
