Course description

Examine the nature of conflict, how conflict is experienced and the complexity of underlying causes. You will determine your own conflict style, investigate various influences in conflict, and gain the skills to approach and manage conflict situations.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify causes and sources of conflict 
  • Analyze how conflict is experienced 
  • Examine the role of values and interests in conflict 
  • Identify different approaches to conflict 
  • Summarize self-care techniques for managing conflict 
  • Compare conflict styles
