VSTR ASTMW - Adult Strings Music Week
Course description
Are you an amateur adult amateur string player looking to hone your skills, perform with others, and connect with fellow music lovers? Look no further than Adult Strings Intensive. This 3 day summer camp is designed specifically for adults (18+) who play violin, viola, or cello.
Taking place from July 2 to July 4, 2024 at Mount Royal University, Conservatory located in the beautiful Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts. This long weekend string intensive, offers a comprehensive program that includes technique sessions, instrument-specific masterclasses, orchestra, chamber music, and private lessons. Participants will have the opportunity to perform in a chamber group as well as as an optional solo recital in the evening of July 4th. (Adult Strings Week starts Tuesday July 2 at 9:00am - 4:30pm, Wednesday July 3rd 9:00am to 4:30pm and Thursday July 4th from 9:00am - 9:00pm)
The program is open to players of all levels and years of experience, from beginner to advanced. Whether you are just starting out or have been playing for years, you will find a supportive and engaging community of like-minded individuals who share your passion for music-making.
To ensure you get the most out of your experience, we recommend bringing one solo piece that you know well and one you are just starting, along with your instrument, your music with piano parts, a pencil, and a water bottle. Participants will be given chamber music parts to prepare for the week before the program.
