Course description

Explore what it means to be an effective leader. Through various self-assessment tools, reflective activities and discussions, gain self-awareness of your personal leadership values, style and strengths. Examine successful leadership principles, practices, skills, characteristics and behaviours for the modern world. 

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Define leadership, management and the difference between them  
  • Differentiate between the different styles of leadership  
  • Determine personal leadership strengths and areas for growth  
  • Create a leadership identity that outlines leadership values, mission and vision  
  • Outline the importance of emotional intelligence and leadership style and how they can be leveraged in a healthy working environment  
  • Explain the importance of reflective practice and personal development in leadership
