Course description

Discover the best practices, strategies and tools for leading, developing and influencing others by examining how great leaders motivate and foster a culture of collaboration and cooperation. Gain an understanding of how the role of the leader changes as teams develop. Examine your core values, purpose and mission to lead and influence more effectively by identifying your strengths and areas for development.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • define influence and identify types of leadership influencers and influencing behaviours.
  • describe leadership presence and how it can be used.
  • discuss personal values and their importance to leadership and influence.
  • apply self-identified DISC profile strengths to effectively influence others.
  • describe the process of team development and the leader's role.

•   This is an online, asynchronous course; it is not an independent study course. There are set due dates for graded and non-graded assessments and students are required to actively participate throughout the course via discussion and other activities.
