XIDA 10103 - Space Planning and Scheduling
Course description
Deepen your understanding of interior decorating through a comprehensive project that requires you to apply your skills in mood board creation, furniture studies, and space planning to produce a professional client presentation. As part of this process, you will complete the interior furnishings schedule and builder specification sheets, as well as evaluate eco-friendly product options, and prepare a client invoice.Learner outcomes
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to
- develop a mood board that reflects the atmosphere identified in the client profile.
- create space planning documents based on client needs.
- design multiple furniture study options for a designated space.
- design a functional space plan to meet client needs.
- create a professional client presentation that clearly communicates the design concept and recommended solutions.
- develop a complete client package that includes accurate invoicing, and schedules.
Prerequisites
XIDA 10101 - Colour Theory and Lighting
(OR XIDA 10011 - Colour and Light in Interior Decorating)
AND
XIDA 10102 - Window Treatments, Textiles, and Finishes
(OR XIDA 10012 - Materials for Window Treatments and Soft Furnishings AND XIDA 10013 - Materials for Surface Finishes)
