Course description

Conflict escalates when one party perceives another party as preventing them from meeting their needs. In this course, you will assess the level of conflict escalation, explore underlying reasons why conflict escalates, and be introduced to strategies to de-escalate high conflict situations.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • assess the level of escalation in high conflict situations.
  • differentiate between resistance, threats to identity, and emotional escalation.
  • apply intervention strategies to overcome high conflict situations.
