Course description

Build effective project teams and engage stakeholders to ensure project success. Gain skills in stakeholder analysis, communication strategies, and team development techniques to enhance your collaboration and performance. You will apply proven project management tools and templates to identify, assess, and communicate with key stakeholders. Develop a stakeholder register and team charter to strengthen engagement and support project goals. This Blue Seal eligible course is taught by experienced industry professionals. Build the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to lead teams effectively and manage stakeholder relationships.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to

  • apply various leadership strategies across teams and stakeholder groups.
  • analyze stakeholders and their project impact using project management strategies, techniques, and templates.
  • apply templates to capture and analyze team and stakeholder information for effective project communication.
  • develop a stakeholder register and team charter to determine stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
  • discuss stakeholder, team development, and motivation strategies and their impact on project success.

  • This is an online asynchronous course; it is not an independent study course. There are set due dates for graded and non-graded assessments and students are required to actively participate throughout the course via discussion and other activities.
  • Before your course begins, ensure your MyMRU account is activated. Step-by-step instructions for account activation can be found online. Once you have activated your account and have your MyMRU login information, you can log into your MRU Google account using your @mtroyal.ca email address and set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
