Taiko skills and drills focus on developing proper stance, grip, timing, and physical movement, with common drills including practicing bachi strokes, alternating hands, and performing rhythmic patterns at varying speeds. Key skills to improve include basic rhythm and drumming, pattern recognition, and physical coordination for movement between drums. To practice, use a metronome for timing, maintain loose wrists, arms, and body, and gradually increase the tempo of patterns while focusing on accuracy and evenness of beats.
