Course description

Gain advanced, practical classroom experience with special emphasis on the application of theoretical education policies, methods and philosophies. Expand your knowledge and skills through active participation in the classroom duties of an education assistant.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • analyze the relationship between practice and theory in education.
  • demonstrate the application of policies, regulations, and procedures within the classroom environment.
  • recognize elements of the "Rights and Responsibilities of an Education Assistant" in the classroom.
  • employ methods of differentiation in instruction within a diverse classroom.
  • explore the social and educational benefits of a diverse and inclusive classroom.
  • enhance self-presentation and relationships to establish oneself as an Education Assistant.

XEDU 10007 - Classroom Immersion I with a minimum grade of Pass
