Course description
Explore the characteristics of human development with a focus on childhood to adolescence. You will examine the psychology of a developing child from varying perspectives and discover its implications in the learning environment of a classroom.Learner outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
- explain the basic terminology of educational psychology.
- outline the basic concepts involved in learning.
- identify the differences and relationship between theories of education and practical experience.
- identify the ways students learn and how these techniques can be applied in teaching practice and classroom assistance.
- categorize the factors of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual (ethical) development and how they play into the educative process.
- identify the factors involved in the socialization process and an individual's "freedom."
- express how human development factors relate to classroom management.
Prerequisites
XEDU 10002 - The Education Professional II with a minimum grade of C-Applies towards:
- Education Assistant Extension Certificate : Required courses
