Course description

Examine the legal landscape in Alberta and Canada. You will learn how legal obligations are created, maintained, and enforced in business relationships, as well as how they form an effective component of risk management.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to 

  • explain the principles that define the Canadian legal system.
  • explain the functions that law serves in business relationships.
  • discuss the judicial process.
  • apply the rules of common law.
  • describe the principles of statutory interpretation.
