Course description

Discover procurement strategies that meet and satisfy stakeholder requirements. 
Use best practices in supplier selection and relationship management to reduce operational costs without affecting quality. 
Examine key concepts, tools and techniques for optimal price and resource planning, investigate the relationship between procurement and inventory management, and explore the legal and ethical aspects of procurement.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • discuss the elements of procurement strategies using suitable vocabulary and concepts.
  • evaluate prospective suppliers by employing appropriate procurement strategies and tools.
  • use RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs in the tendering process to facilitate optimal supplier selection.
  • discuss ethical and viable options relating to the legal rights of the buyer.
  • propose suitable solutions to common inventory problems.
