Course description

Learn about organizational ethics by examining the fundamental role of integrity in leadership and daily operations in nonprofits. You will identify common ethical issues that arise within the Canadian nonprofit sector and investigate the specific processes used to manage these complex problems. Explore the creation and implementation of organizational ethics codes to ensure long-term mission success and stakeholder trust. 

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to 

  • discuss the nonprofit sector in Canada.
  • explain why ethics are important in the operations and leadership of a nonprofit organization.
  • identify issues that arise and processes that can be used to manage ethical problems.
  • apply an individual ethical decision-making approach to case studies.
  • use a systematic approach to the development and use of organizational ethics codes.
