Course description

Discover the characteristics of digital media and how they relate to information and site architecture. You will explore navigation methods as they relate to website design and examine the steps to developing a robust site structure.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to 

  • identify the characteristics of digital media.  
  • match the foundations of audience and purpose to website creation.  
  • describe the principles of authoring for social media and marketing.  
  • identify common social media platforms and online advertising tools.  
  • examine the steps to create a robust site structure.

  • This is an online asynchronous course; it is not an independent study course. There are set due dates for graded and non-graded assessments and students are required to actively participate throughout the course via discussion and other activities.
