Acquire tools and strategies to lead as an effective supervisor. Explore fundamental concepts and develop skills for creating a positive work environment, productive teams and motivated employees.Learner outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
- describe characteristics of an effective manager.
- articulate the key responsibilities of managers at all organizational levels.
- understand the difference between management and leadership.
- describe the Five Functions of Management.
- identify your predominant management style.
- understand the key differences between three management styles.
- identify the impact and appropriate use of each of the three management styles.
- articulate the importance of three foundational abilities for effective managers and understand the benefits of developing them.
- articulate the benefits of delegating effectively.
- overcome your reasons for not delegating to others.
- apply strategies and practices to more effectively assign work, assess progress, and provide feedback.
