Learn how organizations can align individual and business goals through the process of performance management. Explore the three key components of effective performance management: plan, perform and review.Learner outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to
- describe the performance management process, its purpose, the roles and responsibilities, and how performance management systems set clear expectations and objectively measure performance.
- explain the internal and external factors that influence an organization's performance management system.
- use coaching to correct issues and reinforce positive behaviours.
- describe when it is appropriate to investigate performance issues, how to conduct investigations properly, and the factors that influence decision making.
- describe the purpose of progressive discipline and the varying levels involved, and when it is justifiable to enforce harsher consequences.
- explain how leaders contribute to and influence the development of a performance oriented culture.
