Course description

Examine the specific roles and behaviours that define effective leaders while identifying actionable strategies to motivate employees and drive team engagement. Discover the difference between leadership and management and explore the concept of leadership by identifying leadership functions and roles. You will participate in activities that help you understand what effective leadership entails. Through the application of modern leadership theories, you will determine how to refine your unique leadership style to meet diverse organizational needs.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to 

  • define leadership and explain the basic competencies of effective leaders.
  • define the differences between management and leadership.
  • identify ways to develop your unique leadership style. 
  • identify leadership functions.
  • develop strategies for motivating employees.
