Course description

Examine applied communication in the context of conflict. You will learn fundamental skills and techniques to support building and sustaining effective dialogue, and explore the concepts of positions and interests.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to

  • apply speaking and listening tools to improve interpersonal communication effectiveness.
  • examine feedback loops in supporting communication.
  • interpret the impact of behavioural variables in dialogue. 
  • demonstrate the use of reframing in different contexts.
  • differentiate between a position and an interest.
