Course description

Adopt the reader’s perspective to make informed choices about tone, clarity, and voice. Using practical examples, you will analyze and solve complex stylistic editing challenges. By learning to refine language, improve flow, and eliminate ambiguity while preserving the author's intent, you will gain the skills needed to ensure written communications are engaging, polished, and tailored to their audience.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to 

  • evaluate and edit sentences for clarity. 
  • evaluate and edit sentences for precision and concision. 
  • evaluate and edit a document to enhance grace. 
  • evaluate and edit a document for cohesion and coherence. 
  • write an editor's note that communicates the reasons for your editorial decisions.
