Discover some of the most influential interior decorating styles throughout Western history. Explore various time periods with a focus on key furniture pieces, art, and architecture. 

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • identify key characteristics of interior decorating styles throughout history.  
  • discuss interior design styles using period terms and the principles of design.  
  • explain the impact of historical influences in each period.
