Course description

Review assessment techniques you can design and implement to improve the quality of the classroom experience. You will examine a variety of techniques for the ongoing assessment of a student's learning in relation to your effectiveness as an instructor.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to
  • Review characteristics and practices of effective instructors of adults
  • Develop a self-assessment tool suitable for your own instructional situations
  • Reflect upon ways that assessment can be used to improve your instructional performance
  • Understand the importance of ongoing formative assessment of student learning
  • Identify a process for planning, implementing and analyzing the assessment of student learning
  • Clarify one learning objective for a specific learning situation, and plan how the learning assessment will occur
