Course description

Explore program planning and assessment principles currently used in the non-profit sector. Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to create new programs and initiatives in a non-profit organization by creating a plan for a new program from the research stage through evaluation.

Learner outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify how relevant issues and challenges influence the development of programs and services in a non-profit organization 
  • Summarize the skills and knowledge required to manage programs and resources 
  • Develop a logic model to graphically describe the various program components 
  • Understand the components and design of planning and evaluating a non-profit program 
  • Create a program plan in its entirety from the components above

•   This is an online, asynchronous course; it is not an independent study course. There are set due dates for graded and non-graded assessments and students are required to actively participate throughout the course via discussion and other activities.
