Course description

Develop your understanding of the essentials of employment legislation and its impact on the work environment. Discover how to interpret and manage legal issues in HR by reviewing real-life situations. Identify when and how to research, develop and implement policies and procedures in your organization.

Course outline

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the nature of employee relations
  • Be able to define and develop appropriate employment terms and conditions that will enable the organization to meet its’ objectives
  • Understand the legal implications of employee relations policies
  • Be able to develop employee relations policies and procedures
  • Be able identify, understand and resolve employee relations concerns in the work place.

•   This is an online, asynchronous course; it is not an independent study course. There are set due dates for graded and non-graded assessments and students are required to actively participate throughout the course via discussion and other activities.
