Product management is the strategic process of guiding the development and success of a product by aligning customer needs, business goals and technological possibilities.
In partnership with York University’s School of Continuing Studies, Mount Royal University is pleased to offer the Product Management Extension Certificate, a part-time, accelerated program. This program will prepare you to lead cross-functional teams, drive innovation and confidently bring products to market.
Through a blend of business strategy, user experience (UX) design and agile project management, you will explore the entire product management lifecycle from customer discovery and competitive analysis to data analytics and roadmap development.
You will learn how to prepare and present a compelling business case for a product or service, communicate a clear vision and strategy and apply agile principles to bring ideas to life. You’ll implement frameworks like design thinking and UX to support diverse business needs and use data to evaluate product features and measure success after launch.

This schedule is subject to change. Courses start on various dates within each semester. Fall schedule and registration is available in June; Winter schedule and registration is available in November; and Spring/Summer schedule and registration is available in March.
Course materials and information
Use York University's learning management system to access materials, participate in discussion boards and complete assignments, and attend live classes on Zoom that are held at scheduled dates and times. These instructor-facilitated courses begin and end on set dates and have specific deadlines. Access courses via a laptop or desktop computer with a functional webcam and microphone.
Come prepared with a fully charged laptop for the onsite classes. There are no software requirements for the laptops.
Students must be at least 18 years of age to register in the program.
